Origin story

Grew up on the early interwebs of the 90s. 14.4k modem. The beautiful sound of a handshake. Started as a script kiddie, became an expert mIRC scripter — did some stuff I still can't talk about. But Linux saved me. Swapped mIRC for BitchX because that's way more 1337. Slackware → Debian → ... Ubuntu, because fuck it, life's too short for broken wifi drivers.

Dropped out of high school because it was boring as hell. Writing C was more interesting than whatever they were teaching. Got a sysadmin job, kept learning obsessively, became a software engineer by accident. Then a bigger accident: CTO. Turns out management is just debugging humans with worse stack traces.

But honestly? I just want to be an IC, have nerdy fun, and spend time with my family.

The AI chapter

Mid-2025, I became a Claude Code junkie. Something clicked — coding with an AI wasn't just faster, it was genuinely fun in a way programming hadn't been since those mIRC scripting days.

Then in early January 2026, I discovered OpenClaw. It's the most exciting thing I've touched since the early interwebs. Maybe more. That same feeling — raw, limitless, everything to build — except this time the tools build back. And I am completely, irreversibly addicted to it. A self-hosted AI gateway that lets you build agents that live in your messaging apps, your terminal, your life. I gave my agent a name (Daneel), a personality, and way too much access to my life. He's my co-builder now.

So naturally I'm building ClawShell — a voice-first mobile app for OpenClaw — so I can stay connected to Daneel at all times. On my bike, in the kitchen, wherever. Like a junkie who builds his own syringe. It's fine. Everything's fine.
